Our Approach to Activities
CCFA designs every program around six guiding principles. Culture-First Design ensures we begin with authentic Caribbean stories, art forms, and community needs, then build experiences that honour those roots. Youth at the Centre means children and young adults take active roles—as learners, leaders, and co-creators—so heritage continues through them. Through Community Co-Creation, we listen to educators, artists, parents, and partners, piloting ideas, refining them, and scaling what works. We keep participation open by prioritising Low-Barrier Access in schools, libraries, malls, and public spaces. Each activity also emphasises Skill-Building and Service, pairing culture with practical abilities such as leadership, literacy, and event planning. Finally, we track progress with Measurable Impact tools—surveys, reflection circles, and volunteer logs—so we can learn, adapt, and keep improving.
